Matthew Roberts

This book documents Matthew Roberts Cranbrook thesis. Roberts’ work uses contrast and inversion as tools for investigation. His process often involves elaborate castings and opposing themes—manufacturing vs nature, real vs fake. Typographically and visually I wanted to highlight the black and white qualities of the work. Roberts’ work is visually rich and I organized the work into three sections by color. This allowed the for new formal relationships that were separated from their chronological story.
